We live in a time of instant gratification, where every image we have taken lives on our phones, computers, and hard drives. All these images are suspended about the cloud waiting to be hashtagged and posted.
More and more couples are declining a wedding album. Why? One reason is that they want to save money, they just want the digital files, they will make their own wedding album. The next thing you know, years have passed and the couple still doesn’t own a wedding album nor have they printed a single image from their wedding day.
Your wedding day will be the most memorable and special day of your entire life. It is the day you join your life with another person, and it’s hard to believe you could ever forget a single second of that. But as time passes and you make more memories together, memories from your wedding day will fade. One of the first things cut from a wedding budget is the wedding album when in all actuality it should be one of the most important investments.
More and more people choose to save their wedding memories on digital files on their computer or to a USB. But digital files and USB drives can be lost. As you grow old together, you may move or buy new computers. Computers can become broken or taken over by viruses. USB drives and CD’s with your photos on them can get lost or destroyed as time goes on.
And as technology changes you may find yourself in a similar situation to trying to view your old VHS home videos in a house that only owns DVD players. Pretty soon DVD’s will disappear too! It’s already happening. Everything will be stored in the cloud and no one really understands the cloud!
Your wedding album is a physical copy of your favorite moments. It can be passed down from generation to generation. It is a special memento that you can share with friends, family, and any future children or grandchildren. And when 30 years pass and you want to look back on your wedding day, you can pull out the album you had specially made as your everlasting keepsake.
I will handle your photo album with the care and attention to detail that it deserves. Instead of a regular photo book, you will receive a high quality flush mount album, meticulously handcrafted from cover to cover. I will make sure every page is perfectly seamless as album makers pay special attention to details including the block build, page gutter width, cover construction and wrap, corners, and the final assembly. My album vendor offers 40 different leather cover options, as well as acrylic covers that can be upgraded to your final design.
These small details are what can take your wedding album from average to out-of-this-world. The albums are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty that ensures you will be able to make these memories last. Don’t trust your precious memories to a generic photo book website after the wedding is said and done. Give your trust to the photographer who attended the magical event and knows how to portray your memories in an album that you will want to keep forever.
It is my goal to display your favorite images from your wedding in a way that makes you happy. My album design process includes consistent discussion and approval between the client and the designer to make sure you end up with a product that you love.
You will start out with a worksheet to help you choose your favorite images. The number of images in your album will depend on how many pages you decide on and the size of your album. Then you can start searching through the photos to choose which ones best tell your story. An example would be to choose a certain amount of images from each part of your wedding day: details, bride getting ready, groom getting ready, ceremony, reception, etc.
You can choose how you want the album to look and what cover you want to have customized. Then we will send you a digital version that you can proof and approve. Start to finish, the design process takes about 6 weeks from digital approval to final album creation.
I’m so excited for you and I want to congratulate you on your big day. Being your photographer to capture each moment is already exciting, but to then create an album for you to keep in your family is an honor we wholeheartedly look forward to it. Please contact me when you are ready to begin designing your wedding album.
